Koumoutsakos dismisses reports of an organised plan at Evros

It has not been confirmed that there is an organised plan. There is indeed some movement of migrants, as happens from time to time. The Greek police and armed forces are protecting the borders," Alternate Migration Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos said on Thursday in an interview with Skai TV.

Regarding the ongoing Turkish provocations, Koumoutsakos pointed out that "we are facing an unfolding Turkish strategy that I describe as pressure on multiple fronts. Pressure is exerted on several fronts simultaneously, from Evros to the drillings that have been announced south of Crete and Karpathos. There is only one way to counter this policy of dispersed pressure: the four, as I usually say, walls of national foreign and defence policy."

He added that these walls are national solidarity, active use of international law, diplomatic activity and operational readiness.
