Celestyal Cruises suspends all voyages until March 2021

Greek cruise operator Celestyal Cruises announced its decision to extend the suspension of all its cruises until March 6, 2021, the company said on Tuesday, after having suspended its voyages to July 30 in a May announcement.

In a statement, Celestyal Cruises CEO Chris Theofilidis said that this decision was "difficult but prudent," and he explained that "the vast majority of our passengers come from distant countries such as North and South America, Asia, Japan, Australia, where coronavirus restrictions and travel bans are currently in effect."

Passengers who have paid for cruises and are affected by the suspension are offered a redemption on a future cruise, called Future Cruise Credit and worth 120 pct of the original booking, redeemable until December 31, 2021, and they can pick new cruises from any of the operator's itineraries until the end of December 2022.
