FM Dendias in Berlin
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will travel to Berlin on Thursday, August 27 to attend the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union member states ("Gymnich").
The talks will focus on the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean in the light of escalating Turkish delinquency in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, according to a foreign ministry statement. The situation in Belarus, EU - Russia relations and the geopolitical implications of the pandemic will also be examined.
Prior to the informal council, the foreign ministers will attend a working lunch with their Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi, where they will exchange views on the Middle East peace process and EU-Israel relations.
On Friday, during the informal working lunch, the foreign ministers will focus on the role of the European Union on the international stage.
On the sidelines of the council, on Thursday, Dendias will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
