Wildfire starts in Neos Voutzas, Attica; inhabited areas not threatened

According to the initial information, the blaze is burning near the monastery of Pantokratoras but the fire brigade considers that it does not pose a threat to inhabited areas at this time.

Ten fire engines with a crew of 31 fire men, assisted by a team of firefighters on foot and volunteers, and three water-dropping helicopters are operating in the area but strong winds are making the firefighting effort difficult.
