Six people trapped in Oxia rescued by helicopter

The rescue of six residents from Oxia in the municipality of Mouzaki, Karditsa, was completed a few hours ago by helicopter, with Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias present to coordinate the air-lift.
The operation started early in the morning with the transfer of the first six people wishing to go to Mouzaki, while according to sources another four are to be transferred later. At the same time, water and food will be provided to residents of the cut-off village, who do not want to leave their homes. The area sustained great damage due to the Medicane Ianos.
