Two towns on Crete under state of emergency after flooding, landslides

A state of emergency has been declared by the government in two towns in the region of Iraklio on Crete, Kastelli and Thrapsanos, after heavy rainfall over Friday and Saturday led to floods and landslides.

The state of emergency was issued by Civil Protection Deputy Minister for Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias and will be in effect for six months, to May 6, 2021.
