The Greek state budget for 2021 includes macroeconomic and fiscal uncertainties, the Parliament’s State Budget Office said on Monday in a report on the state budget tabled in Parliament last week.

"The 2021 state budget report presents a clearly more negative picture in comparison with the draft plan, and this because of the imposition of new restrictive measures to deal with the outbreak of the pandemic, and a downward revision of macro-economic forecasts combined with the announcement of additional urgent fiscal measures to support households and enterprises," the report said.

It added that as far as macroeconomic uncertainties were concerned, the duration of the restrictive measures for the coronavirus pandemic is still unknown and will depend largely on pandemic developments and the distribution of a vaccine, while on fiscal uncertainties, the biggest risk was related to restoring public revenue in 2021.

The report noted that a revision of previous forecasts to better reflect latest developments did not mean that macroeconomic and fiscal uncertainties woud cease to exist.
