Athens metro on strike, tram on work stoppage, buses & trolleys to run as usual
Lines 1 through 3 of the Athens metro will not run on Thursday, after staff decided to join a 24-hour strike called by the Athens Labor Center.
INTIME
The action is part of a wider strike actions called by the civil servants federation (ADEDY), and ship crews, among others.
The tram staff will go on work stoppage from 18:00 through Thursday's last schedule, not on a full-day strike as initially announced.
Buses and trolleys will run as usual, as their unions are not striking.
The metro staff said they were "not going to accept the use of this pandemic as a means to vote anti-labour draft bills and do away with rights of decades."
