Weather turning inclement with high winds, dropping temperatures as of Sunday

The weather will take a turn for the worse as of early Sunday, with rain and storms in western Greece and high-velocity winds with low temperatures affecting the entire country on Monday.

Starting Sunday, November 29, the inclement weather will start from the Ionian Islands and move eastward in the Aegean Sea and Thrace, and temporarily affect Central Greece, Evia and the Cycladic Islands. The phenomena will abate late at night in the northwest.

On Monday, the storms and winds will affect Halkidiki, eastern Thessaly and Central Greece, Evia and islands in the Aegean including Crete. They will abate by night.

The northern Aegean will be lashed by strong northeasterly winds measuring 7 and 8 on the Beaufort scale starting on Monday afternoon, while temperatures will also drop in the north of Greece.

The change in temperature will be felt in Central and southern Greece on Monday as well.
