Russian Prime Minister Mishustin arrives in Athens
The aeroplane carrying Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin landed at 14:00 on Wednesday at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos.
Mishustin will represent his country in the events for the 200-year anniversary since the 1821 Greek Revolution against the Ottoman rule. Finance Minister Christos Staikouras welcomed him at the airport.
At 14:30, the Russian premier will meet Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion, after which the two top officials will make joint statements to the press.
Later, at 18:15, Mishustin will visit the new National Gallery where he will be welcomed by Mitsotakis and his wife Mareva. The guests will then be given a tour of the renovated National Gallery.
An official dinner is scheduled for 20:00 at the Presidential Mansion. On the Greek Independence Day holiday on March 25, Mishustin will lay a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument and then join the officials attending the military parade passing in front of the Greek parliament, in the presence of President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and other distinguished guests.
The Russian Prime Minister will depart from Athens for Thessaloniki on Thursday at 11:30.
