Gennimata: New labour law serves major private interests

Opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata on Monday once more accused the government that its new labour bill serves only major private interests.

Gennimata made the statement during a visit to Hellenic Aerospace Industry, where she was briefed by the management and talked with workers.

"New Democracy's government has chosen to support only big business interests. For this reason, with this new bill, it is coming to implement the commitments it has made to them," she said, adding that the new bill "leaves the workers unprotected, without rights, insecure and on low salaries".

She also pointed out that the regulations propelled by the government "downgrade domestic production even in the defence industry, which plays a crucial role in the country's deterrent capacity."

Concluding, Fofi Gennimata said that Hellenic Aerospace Industry and its employees are paying for these conservative policies.
