"The new regulations in the labour market are a very well thought out intervention, which is also ruthless and targeted," opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata said on Wednesday in parliament, during the debate on the labour law.
These provisions, Gennimata said, require the employee to bow his head, accept everything and submit. "In the face of this policy, any citizen who feels progressive cannot remain indifferent and silent. No one has the right to remain silent or hide in the face of these developments," she said.
More specifically, she said:
- The collective agreement is abolished, as a condition for the agreement on working time.
- Dismissals are facilitated, even those deemed illegal by the court.
- Strike action is obstructed and the protection of trade unionists is abolished.
- The control mechanisms of the state, the Labour Inspectorate (SEPE) are fully weakened.
