Traffic restrictions in Athens on Thurs.-Fri., during Chancellor Merkel's visit
Public transportation schedules in the city of Athens will be modified on Thursday, October 28 (Ochi Day national holiday) to accomodate the commemorative parade, by order of the Hellenic Police.
The Fix metro station will be closed as of 08:00 in the morning on Thursday; trains will pass through but not stop. Tram trains will start and stop at Fix during the parade, instead of Syntagma Square.
Buses and trolleys running through central Athens will also be modified as of 09:00 in the morning until the completion of the parade, and also in some central municipalities in the metropolitan area.
Road traffic restrictions will also come into effect on Thursday and Friday in Athens to facilitate the secure arrival and stay of visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
These will be effective in the evening and night hours on Thursday and in the morning and midday hours on Friday, including traffic stoppages and diversions.
