Second death from fire in Papanikolaou hospital
The 52-year-old burn victim, who was being treated on respiratory support after the fire in Thessaloniki's "Papanikolaou" Hospital, died early on Thursday, the director of the Pulmonary Clinic of "Papanikolaou", Stavros Tryfon, said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
He was one of three patients injured or killed in the fire and the second to die, following the 79-year-old who was found dead by firefighters who responded to the blaze.
The third patient in the same ward, a 72-year-old man, who also sustained burn injuries, is being treated out of danger, according to Tryfon.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
