SYRIZA opens its congress at Tae Kwon Do Stadium on Thursday

The congress at the coastal suburb of Athens will conclude on Sunday (April 17).

In a statement, the main opposition party said the congress is being held "at a critical confluence of great upheavals and forceful social processes, and is a landmark congress aiming at a new start and political change in the country."

Works will begin at 18:30 on April 14, with the opening address of party leader Alexis Tsipras.
