Elections are an urgent social necessity, SYRIZA's Iliopoulos says
"Elections are an urgent social necessity. We have a government that multiplies the [impact of the] crises, does not respect public wealth and is coordinating the looting of the social majority," main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos said in an interview with Rise TV late on Tuesday.
Iliopoulos claimed that "SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance is the only party that used the years of the opposition to present immediately applicable proposals," noting that "all this must be reflected in a comprehensive government programme."
Commenting on the measures announced on Tuesday by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he said that "the delayed measures announced by the Mitsotakis government do not even touch the core of the problems and reflect the social pressure it has come under."
