Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis marked World AIDS Day with a Facebook post, emphasizing that Greece is better prepared this year to support the universal goal of ending the AIDS threat by 2030.

Mitsotakis highlighted the implementation of new treatments, reliable screening tests, and targeted awareness campaigns. “Soon, an additional shield for health will be introduced with the National HIV Action Plan, currently being drafted. This comprehensive roadmap will align Greece with the latest guidelines of the World Health Organization, covering diagnosis, care, monitoring, and prevention,” he stated.

He concluded by reaffirming Greece’s commitment to public health and human rights. “There is still a journey ahead, but we will complete it victoriously—protecting those affected, avoiding stigma or isolation for carriers, and embracing solidarity, humanity, and culture as our duty,” he underlined.
