Zacharaki: Neigbourhood Babysitters programme in every municipality from June 2025

"When we started the programme, the target was 450 families and today we have 950 families who have this help for their babies," noted the minister and added: "We included the programme in the NSRF, we secured 100 million euros and from June 2025 all municipalities of the country will have 'Neighbourhood Babysitters'. Parents, when they are fully employed, get a voucher of 500 euros for the caretaker, while the part-time or unemployed receive 300 euros. For the next phase of the nationwide application, we are considering the possibility of further increasing the amount of the voucher".
Additionally, Zacharaki referred to the programme "My Home II", saying that "until today 120,000 have entered gov.gr and have applied for the certificate of eligibility and about 58,500 have already received the certificate. According to the ministry, of the 58,500 who have already received the certificate of eligibility, 27,500 are married couples, 4,500 are single-parent families and 26,500 are single.
Besides, Zacharaki reminded viewers that the renewed "Renovate-Rent" programme will also start in the next few days (with the subsidy increased from 49% to 60% and from 8,000 to 13,500 euros) and announced that "in March we will launch another programme, which is financed by the Recovery Fund and provides for the renovation of homes and business premises of individuals with disabilities. Mainly for interventions to increase accessibility".
Finally, Zacharaki talked about the new "Family Carer" programme that is due to be implemented from the end of the year and will concern the provision of help at home to every member of the family who needs it.
