"The government is not seeking any kind of restart. It wants to continue what it is already doing with consistency and determination: a policy that brings results and is already reflected in the data. Growth rate above the eurozone average, increase in investments, reduction of public debt, and the creation of surpluses. In the coming period, we will intensify the reform effort. The goal is to have an even more substantial impact on society,” stated ruling New Democracy (ND) spokesperson Alexandra Sdoukou, referring to the measures the Prime Minister will announce at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), in an interview with OPEN TV on Monday.

"The financial team, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, has already processed all the fiscal data. Preliminary discussions have been held on a 2 billion euros package of measures, with an emphasis on the middle class and with a tax-related focus," she added.

She also underlined that "although we have covered significant ground, more work is still needed to strengthen disposable income. What matters is not how ‘big’ the TIF package will be, but whether the measures will leave a real impact in citizens’ pockets," Sdoukou added.

Furthermore, Sdoukou stressed that elections will take place on schedule. "Until then, the government continues its work with policies and measures across all sectors — health, education, economy… and it will be judged as a whole at the end of the four-year term," she said.
