Famellos: Mr. Mitsotakis deceived the Greek people

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Sokratis Famellos on Thursday said that "the conclusion after 6 years of New Democracy’s governance is that Mr. Mitsotakis deceived Greek men and women. He deceived the middle class, entrepreneurship—because that was his main target—but he also deceived workers and pensioners, he deceived consumers, he deceived even the notion of excellence, and he deceived Thessaloniki as well," at a meeting with representatives of productive, business, social bodies and local government of Thessaloniki.

Regarding the tax relief measures expected to be announced by the Prime Minister at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), Famellos said that "whatever is positive for entrepreneurship and households, SYRIZA supports it," but added:

"However, to now come and promise tax relief because he is under political and polling pressure, I consider it a mockery. Because he should have done it earlier. Because first he overtaxed, drained the market by pulling 6 billion euros in surplus, and now he comes to cover his party’s interests. This is not fair for the economy, not fair for Thessaloniki, not fair for Greece. This is deeply hypocritical".

"We need a different productive model and a different economic policy that supports society and the economy," emphasised Famellos.
