Minor earthquakes recorded in Pella and Kilkis

Two minor earthquakes were recorded in northern Greece on Monday. The first, measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale, struck at 18:22 with its epicentre 6 kilometres north of Aridaia, Pella.

Two minor earthquakes were recorded in northern Greece on Monday. The first, measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale, struck at 18:22 with its epicentre 6 kilometres north of Aridaia, Pella. The tremor was shallow, at a depth of 3 kilometres, according to the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Seismological Station.

A second, weaker tremor of 2.8 magnitude followed at 18:29, centred 4 kilometres east-northeast of Nea Santa, Kilkis. Also shallow at 3 kilometres, this quake was felt as far away as Thessaloniki despite its modest size. No damage or injuries have been reported.
