At least until Thursday the lookout for MERS
People who contacted the 69 year old patient with MERS from Saudi Arabia, 73 in our country, are still under close supervision.
This will continue to happen until Thursday, when, according to reports, the health authorities are expected to mark the end of the alarm for the dangerous coronavirus. This doesn't mean that the authorities are complacent, since Greece is a transit node of many travelers from Saudi Arabia and there is always a possibility for another patient with MERS to reach our country.
At present there is an open channel of communication between our country and the approximately 240,000 Greeks living in the Arabian Peninsula. Thousands of people who travel daily from Arab countries to Europe with a stopover at "Eleftherios Venizelos" and "Macedonia" must be added to them.
