Tsipras: “The servitude government must leave”
The president of SYRIZA declared formally the start of the electoral campaign, presenting at a special event his party ballot for the Euro elections.
With the encouragement “Greeks get up” Alexis Tsipras declared the formal start of the electoral campaign of SYRIZA and asked the Greek people to give a single command in elections: “for the government of servitude to leave”. Expressing his certainty for a victory of SYRIZA and his optimism that this prospect moves people of Europe, he analyzed his impressions after his European tour stressing that “all of Europe talks about SYRIZA”. All Europe, he said “expects SYRIZA to make a major upset in Greece and ignite the spark of change across Europe”. Estimating that United Europe is in its most critical juncture, he said that walls that prevent millions of people from the benefits of progress, but also from the elementary for a human life, he added: “Merkel and Schäuble unabashedly suggest what the Greeks should vote, even more strongly than they do in Saxony or Bavaria. Why directly or indirectly they threaten the Greeks with harsh punishments, if they don’t support Samaras and the far-right group of Maximus. This Europe of division, poverty, unemployment and social marginalization isn’t related to our Europe”.
About his own vision for Europe, Tsipras stressed that “our Europe is a Europe of the people and of solidarity” and noted: “The Europe of Merkel and bankers, we will change it with your votes and our struggles”. The Europeans, the president of SYRIZA added, look to Greece to start the counterattack: “With SYRIZA, million Europeans that suffer from the policies of Merkel and from the European sacred alliance have high hopes. And we promise not to disappoint them, neither the Greeks nor the Europeans”. Making specific reference to Manolis Glezos , Tsipras said: “We have Manolis Glezos with us, the man who has proven that even the iron-clad are helpless before the will of the people for freedom, independence and progress. He is ready to lead us again, to lower the flag of memorandum, of austerity, of servitude, of subjugation, of fear, from the Acropolis. He is ready and indefatigable to lead us to assert adamantly what Germany owes, not only to us, but to all the people of Europe”.
In a general reference to the ballot for the Euro elections, Tsipras said it “doesn’t offer an Olive branch to those who have destroyed and are destroying the country. It doesn’t offer a shield for the life style of “let's go to the River” for causes of the disaster. It is a ballot of truth and battle”. Responding to negative comments made in recent days about the ballot, he said: “We talked a lot when others were building up ballots with a “decide and order”. We tested and corrected, some disagreed, but the result makes us all proud. So today, we present a ballot for victory and overturning. Never before have we managed to condense into a ballot so effectively, experience and collective wisdom, the militancy and radicalism. With knowledge of the intellect with the spontaneous movements, with youthful and mature, our ballot expressed and represented: resistance and struggle against the dictatorship, democratic movements, stirrings of popular initiative, the collectives, the working class, scientists, youth, women, social solidarity, all big and small struggles of our times, but also the modern history of our people”.
At the same time, he noted that an enormous, unprecedented undertaking of lies and deceit is done by the major media of entanglement, of oligarchs and bankers who have treasured by the sweat of Greek people and continue to control our lives and the life of the country and went on to say: “And I want to assure you something: Nothing and no one will be forgotten and must not be forgotten. Those who broke the law giving the oligarchs of banks that still breathe thanks to billions of charged citizens, those who have committed crimes selling out with suspicious processes public wealth, those who blackmailed people, raped and violated environmental laws of the country will be brought to justice. They will be judged”. Concluding his speech, the president of SYRIZA called every Greek to make his wrath a politics reaction “and to give a single command to the government to leave”.
