ND: An invitation that was never sent...
On August 16, Newsbomb wrote about the fiestas that were scheduled by the staff of the Prime Minister, in order to unite the Center-Right.
Throughout the summer, the Maximou was leaking information about several "invitations" to executives who have left the faction and for the fiestas to be held in September. The fiestas finally transferred to early October, but the title that Newsbomb gave in the article, remains tragically apropos for the historical faction founded by Constantine Karamanlis.
The article was titled: ND: The invitation dropped me...
And because it is undeniable, it is advisable for people to know that there was no invitation. Neither was any prearrangement for the return of a particular executive. Moreover, as we predicted, even the matter of Karatzaferis was evolved into a parody...
The fiesta of the ND for celebrating 40 years of the party, in Halkidiki and Athens is a communicative fiesta for internal interest, which is done in order Mr. samaras to appease the party officials who are furious with submissiveness of the government and they see that the ND is crashing without reaction.
But even if some of those who left will return to ND, will be very few and will do so for finding a 'safer' political shelter. They hope that they will be re-elected if they be in the lists of ND, since it is almost impossible for them to be re-elected as independent.
Once again the fiestas will turn into an endless monologue of the Prime Minister about how he saved the country, but also the need to show patience until lenders decide that we get out of the rut.
Moreover, within the ND there is a strong resentment of the fact that the councils of the party are inactive, and even when they meet, no one can say his opinion.
This fact is undeniable, as the only council that meets from time to time, is the Parliamentary Group in which Samaras is the only speaker, says what he wants to say and then leaves without heard the MPs of party.
Similarly, in the upcoming anniversary events there will be no invitation, and the only voice that will be heard is this of Antonis Samaras.
On the other hand, there are many who have said to Mr. Samaras that he should restore the vocabulary of the New Democracy and adopt what it was stated in its founding declaration about radical and social liberalism.
However, Mr. Samaras - by weighing the negative political developments for himself primarily - will bring again (with persistence) the issue of transformation of the ND into "New Greece".
We will bring it, (just as have "dreamed" his close associates, in the same pattern with the ELIA of Venizelos), as a kind of political lifeline, if political developments lead the party of ND to crash.
As people who know Antonis Samaras say, "Antonis is afraid of loneliness and political isolation... because he experienced it several years ago ... and therefore will not accept to stay outside in case of crash and in a question of leadership".
It is undisputed that Mr.. Samaras will insist on the "New Greece", despite the fact that no other tendency within the party sees positively this political transformation...
