ANEL MP Papachristopoulos to give up his seat on Friday
Independent Greeks (ANEL) MP Thanassis Papachristopoulos said that he will give up his seat in parliament on Friday. "I owe this seat to ANEL and I will deliver it tomorrow," he said in an interview with ANT1 TV on Thursday.
He clarified that he gives up his seat voluntarily as his stance on Prespes Agreement is against ANEL voters’ position, which he fully respects.
Asked if there were exchanges from prime minister Alexis Tsipras he said that a transaction product would be if I became minister at the government's reshuffle. He also promised that he will refuse a minister's seat.
Papachristopoulos defended the government's work saying that the prime minister has been slandered while asked if he will participate in SYRIZA's ballot, he answered positively "yes because I believe it works positively for the country".
