Greece, Cyprus, Egypt meetings end with observation of joint armed forces exercise

The ministers of National Defense of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt observed the final phase of the joint inter-branch exercise of the three armed forces named "Medusa 9" on Wednesday.

Ministers Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Savvas Angelides and Mohamed Ahmed Zaki held their third trilateral meeting on Tuesday, before observing the exercise.

The top leadership of the Greek armed forces were also present.

"Greeks, Cypriots and Egyptians executed together over several days a series of exercises to today's final phase, they held operations together, worked in tandem and presented the excellent condition of preparedness and the battleworthiness of the armed forces of all three countries," Panagiotopoulos said, adding that the exercise "proves the joint commitment and will of the three countries to act as guarantors and providers of security and stability in the greater area."
