Trial on deadly floods in Mandra to start on January 24
The trial for the deadly floods in Mandra in November 2017, which resulted in the deaths of 24 citizens, will begin on January 24, 2020.
Those accused as responsible for the tragedy will be asked to answer to charges of causing flooding through negligence, manslaughter through negligence, causing bodily harm and violations of building rules.
Among the 10 persons accused are former Attica Region governor Rena Dourou, the former mayor of Mandra, the former vice governor and employees at the techical department of the municipality of Mandra, employees at the forestry department of the municipality of Egaleo and other officials.
