Municipality of Athens opens heated shelters for the homeless

The municipality said that heated areas on the first floor of the 4th muncipal community on the corner of Lenorman and 35 Alexandrias Street and at the dormitory on 49 Alikarnassou Street in the Akadimia Platonos district will be open from 20:00 until 08:00 on Wednesday for the homeless.

A municipality team also visit areas frequented by the homeless to distribute food, tea, blankets and basic necessities and to inform them about the operation of heated shelters.

The Athens municipality has also set up a 24-hour helpline at the four-digit number 1595, where people can call to report emergency incidents.
