Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer expressed his absolute confidence in the Greek government's handling of the migration issue during his meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion on Tuesday, according to government sources.
The discussions - according to the same sources - focused on the current developments in the migration issue, but also on the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Mitsotakis expressed the satisfaction of the Greek side for Austria's support in the European Union.
Regarding developments on the migration issue, Nehammer expressed his absolute confidence in the way that the Greek government is dealing with an explosive problem that threatens the Greek borders, which are also the borders of Europe. The Austrian Minister also reaffirmed his country's readiness to further assist Greece in practice.
Moreover, they discussed the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the escalating and provocative stance of Turkey.
