FM Dendias: We have always relied on European solidarity
"We have always relied on European solidarity," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Friday referring to the climate among his European counterparts on the issue of Turkey.
He described as "absolutely necessary" - in order to achieve de-escalation in the Mediterranean - the forthcoming announcements of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, regarding options for sanctions against Turkey.
"We are looking forward to Borrell's announcements regarding sanctions against Turkey. We consider it an absolute necessity in order to achieve de-escalation in the Mediterranean," Dendias said upon his arrival at the Informal Council of EU Foreign Ministers, which is being held in Berlin.
