Former PASOK FinMin & lawyer Dimitris Tsovolas dies at 79
Veteran Greek politician, lawyer and founding member of socialist party PASOK Dimitris Tsovolas has died at age 79, it was announced on Friday.
Tsovolas served as finance minister (1985-1989) and MP in the government of PASOK leader and former prime minister Andreas Papandreou.
A notable highlight of his career as a lawyer was the legal representation of the family of Alexis Grigoropoulos, the 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot by police in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Katerina Gioti, and by his daughter and his son.
