New primary health care system underway
The new primary health care system is about to be implemented, with focus on the personal doctor, as the issuance of the ministerial decisions that will determine the details of the "Doctor for All" programme is expected to begin next week.
The main pillar is the free provision of a personal doctor who will act as a consultant for all health issues.
The ambition of the political leadership of the health ministry is to achieve the largest number of registered citizens until the end of the year, "whose benefits will be important for public health. It is very important for citizens to have contacts with a doctor from an early age, who will tell them what preventive examinations they need to do, will update their files, will direct them properly in the system, so that the hospital is the last resort," the health ministry underlined.
