In the upcoming months, the introduction of the development law is anticipated, primarily focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This was underlined by Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, speaking at the 100th anniversary event of the Athens Chamber of Small and Medium-Sized Industries (ACSMI). Theodorikakos referred to extroversion and new technologies and their importance for the development of SMEs.

He also spoke about the modernisation of the legislation governing chambers of commerce. As he noted, a dialogue with the chambers is already underway, and the legislation is expected to proceed in early 2026.

Theodorikakos pointed out that the Ministry of Development is proceeding with the institutionalisation of the new Independent Authority for Consumer Protection and Market Supervision, which will unify all control mechanisms into a modern and effective body. He also referred to the government's decisions to support entrepreneurship. On transparency, Theodorikakos stressed that 80 million euros have already been recovered from old investment laws and added that efforts are ongoing to recover funds from companies that received funding without implementing the investments they had committed to.
