Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou held a phone call on Thursday with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, following their bilateral meeting in New York within the framework of the Atlantic Council.
The discussion focused on the "Transatlantic Energy Cooperation" initiative (P-TEC), scheduled to take place in Greece on November 6–7, 2025, which is evolving into a strategic energy partnership with the U.S., according to official sources.
Both ministers have already issued a joint invitation to the 24 European P-TEC member countries, highlighting that: "The 6th P-TEC Ministerial Conference offers U.S. and European partners the opportunity to discuss strategies to further strengthen our common energy goals, including the development of affordable, reliable, and secure energy systems that support strong economic growth and competitiveness. It will also serve as a key platform for the exchange of ideas on energy technologies and projects".
"The 2025 event will begin with a Business Forum on Thursday, November 6, providing an opportunity for leading public and private stakeholders to discuss critical energy issues. The Ministerial Conference itself will take place on Friday, November 7, focusing on liquefied natural gas and grid interconnections within the P-TEC region. Additionally, it will facilitate opportunities for public officials to highlight and coordinate energy-related projects."
It is noted that the delegations from the P-TEC member countries will include representatives from the business community and energy companies, aiming to collaborate on affordable energy, energy security, and resilience.
