Marinakis: The 'Kimon' and the three frigates to follow make Greece's Navy stronger than ever before
The integration of the newly built frigate "KIMON" and the three other Belharra frigates that are still to follow into the Hellenic Navy constitutes a historic milestone for Greece's national defence and will create the strongest navy that the country has ever had, government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis emphasised during the press briefing on Thursday.
Marinakis underlined the government's policy of strengthening the Armed Forces, and referred to Thursday's delivery of the Belharra frigate, emphasising that two more Belharra frigates will be integrated into Greece's fleet by the end of the year, and a fourth in 2028.
The integration of new ships with upgraded capabilities into the Hellenic Navy lies fully within the framework of the "Agenda 2030" Reform, he said, adding that the aim is for Greece to have the strongest Armed Forces in its history by the end of the current decade.
