Lefkada: Mother and child drown after car falls in Vassiliki port
A car with a couple of foreign nationals and their baby fell under indentified condition on Thursday afternoon in the waters of Vassiliki port on Lefkada island resulting into the drowning of a 22 year-old mother and her baby.

The 26 year-old car driver managed to get off the car and was saved.
Vassiliki port authorities assisted by a diver untrapped the woman and the baby from the car and were sent to the local Health Center where they were declared dead on arrival.
The car driver is being hospitalised for precautionary reasons in Lefkada hospital in state of shock.
