French President Emmanuel Macron arrives in Athens
French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Athens for a two-day visit on Thursday afternoon, landing just before 13:00 at the city's 'Eleftherios Venizelos' airport.
Macron and his wife Brigitte Trogneux were met at the airport by Minister of State and government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos and France's Ambassador in Athens Christophe Chantepy.
The French president's motorcade is now heading toward Syntagma Square in central Athens, where Macron will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After the ceremony, President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos will officially receive Macron at the presidential mansion.
