New wing at Crete's Nikos Kazantzakis airport opens
Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis inaugurated on Monday the new wing of the Nikos Kazantzakis airport in Heraklion.
"The airport is being handed over today completely renovated after a donation from Hellenic Duty Free Shops. An airport that due to its facilities did not honor the country or Crete. An airport that in 2010 served 3.8 million visitors and in 2017, 7.4 million people, along with a corresponding rise in the number of flights," said the minister.
The cost of the work exceeded 13 million euros, said the minister, adding that Hellenic Duty Free Shops are supporting Greek products promoting the image of Greek producers abroad.
