The Constitutional review will be concluded and will be democratic and progressive, Katrougalos says
"The procedure of the Constitutional Revision was concluded in a positive climate in the relevant parliament committee, despite the far-right efforts for its cancellation if SYRIZA did not accept the institutional blackmail of changing Article 19," Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos said on Tuesday in an interview with 'Ta Nea' newspaper.
According to Katrougalos, "the revision will take place and be democratic and progressive."
On New Democracy's proposals, Katrougalos underlined: "It is reasonable not to agree with ND's proposal for the 'constitutionalisation' of neo-liberalism, such as the introduction of the golden rule on deficits, which virtually eliminates any Keynesian policy in times of crisis and disagrees with our proposals to strengthen social rights and institutions of direct democracy."
