"It is clear that the society is now expecting different things from the politics and the politicians than those it probably expected the previous period and it is very important for the party to be totally harmonised with the pace of the society", Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at New Democracy's (ND) Executive Secretariat meeting that was held via teleconference on Saturday.
Mitsotakis congratulated the party on the way it supported the society in the last two difficult months and underlined the importance he gives to the voluntarily actions of the party for the support of the programme "Help at Home".
He also said that the government "had the time to upgrade the digital skills and potentials adding that this was an asset for the state and for the society. "Now we are passing to the next phase of the gradual relief of the strict measures against the spread of the coronavirus and the party's role will be very important" he said.
Concluding, he said that the party should send "a message of unity and stay away from sterile confrontations, to insist on the positive message, to inform the society on our initiatives and to transfer to the authority the society's messages and correct our mistakes when they are pointed out.
