Turkey to be «most important issue» at EU foreign ministers' meeting, Borrell says
Turkey will be the most important item on the agenda of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting on Monday, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on his arrival for the meeting in Brussels.
"Our relations with Turkey are not particularly good at this time," he said, adding that he expected "an interesting discussion" on how this important matter should be dealt with. He said it was important that Monday's FAC will be the first meeting that the EU foreign ministers will physically attend in a long time, after many video conferences.
Other issues ranking high on the agenda will be relations with Latin America, given the problems the area is facing with the pandemic, but also Libya, Venezuela, Africa and the results of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. The member-states are also expected to express concern over the situation in Hong Kong.
