Greece, Portugal sign defense agreement in Lisbon

Greece and Portugal signed a bilateral agreement on defense collaboration in Lisbon on Monday.

"We agreed to strengthen our defense collaboration both bilaterally and in the framework of the EU and NATO, in order to meet challanges in security with unity, decisiveness and solidarity, as circumstances dictate," Greek National Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos said.

Portuguese National Defense Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho said that his Greek counterpart paid the official visit despite the climate of tesnion in the East Mediterranean. "We share several concerns, either on issues related to regional threats, or on issues of opportunities in developing collaboration of our defense industries," Gomes Cravinho said.
