Oruc Reis geopositioning system turned off for the last 24 hours
The geopositioning system on the Turkish research vessel "Oruc Reis" has remained turned off for the last 24 hours, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
The Turkish vessel set sail on Monday from the port of Andalya and the last signal it emitted was from an area within the boundaries of the Greek continental shelf, 35 miles south of the island of Kastellorizo.
According to sources, Hellenic Navy vessels are patrolling the wider region.
