Public hospital employees protest against problems in national health system
Employees of public hospitals are marching from Mavili Square to the health ministry on Thursday, as part of a 24-hour strike.
The Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN) is protesting against the underfunding and understaffing of the national health system, noting that "public health expenditures are still at a Third World level of 5 pct of GDP when the average in European Union countries is 7.5 pct of GDP."
