SYRIZA wants rise in lowest wages and pensions, targeted tax reductions, party leader tell
A Europe-wide agreement on the European crisis is necessary to "break the frame of Merkelism," main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) leader Alexis Tsipras told the Financial Times in an interview on Friday, referrring to German Chancellor Angela Merkel's influence on the continent's policies.

Tsipras said he and the party are pro-European and want Greece to remain in the euro; the issue is to reform the European Union itself, not dissolve it, he was quoted as saying.
SYRIZA's plan, he said, was to "increase the lowest wages and lowest pensions and create a better psychology in the real economy, then proceed to certain changes in the taxation system and apply targeted reductions of taxes."
