Tourism Minister Kefalogianni: Greek tourism's renaissance continues
The 35th anniversary of the World Tourism Day to be celebrated on September 27 is dedicated to the development of the local communities.
Greek tourism destinations (Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Halkidiki and others) have organised a series of events as tourism can be a growth locomotive.
Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, who is visiting Halkidiki on Friday, said that tourist arrivals have significantly increased, adding that the country's image in the international markets has been restored.
"The 2013 increase in arrivals and revenues continues in 2014 and we work for further growth in 2015. Athens again is the protagonist among the tourist capitals," she noted.
Kefalogianni called on the agents of the Greek tourism market to intensify their efforts. "The number of tourist arrivals honours us. However, it increases our responsibilities and creates new demands. We must move upwards and win our next wager. The Greek tourism's rennaisance continues," she underlined.
