Juncker: Turkey has nothing to fear from its European neighbours
European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker in a post in Greek language on his twitter account welcomed the release on Tuesday of the two Greek servicemen from a Turkish prison in Edirne.
"As I have said in Varna, Turkey has nothing to fear from its European neighbours. EU remains focused on this strategic relation. We wish for a stable, prosperous and democratic Turkey" Juncker said.
According to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) sources, Juncker was pressing Turkey for the release of the two Greek servicemen.
European sources said to ANA, that the release of the two servicemen shows that Erdogan (Recep Tayyip, Turkish president) understands that he can only rely on Europe.
