The Council of Misdemeanours Court Judges of Volos on Wednesday rejected a request by convicted terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas.

The Council of Misdemeanours Court Judges of Volos on Wednesday rejected a request by convicted terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas, currently serving multiple life sentences for his role as the hitman of the notorious terrorist group 17N, for his seventh consecutive prison furlough in less than two years. The judges accepted the prosecutor's recommendation in his case, refusing to grant Koufodinas furlough from the Volos prison farm, where he is currently carrying out his sentence.

It is the first time that Koufodinas has been denied furlough since the autumn of 2017. During this period, he has been granted six furloughs of two or four days each. In each prior case, the requests for furlough were granted by a decision of the disciplinary boards in the prisons where he was held.
