Parliament votes for former minister's prosecution

Greece's parliament plenary decided late on Wednesday to prosecute former deputy justice minister, Dimitris Papangelopoulos, for all eight offences proposed by the special parliamentary committee that conducted a preliminary examination into the case.

Papangelopoulos is facing charges concerning his involvement in a judicial investigation of a pharmaceutical bribery scandal.

A total 177 out of 300 lawmakers voted to bring charges against Dimitris Papangelopoulos that include morally instigating abuse of authority, accepting bribes and attempted extortion.
