Environment Min offers support, help to Israeli counterpart over oil spill pollution
Environment & Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas expressed his full support on Friday to Israel's Minister of Environmental Protection Gila Gamliel concerning the large oil spill from a yet unknown source that polluted the country's Mediterranean shores this past week.
The Greek ministry's resources and know-how in the field of marine decontamination are available to Israeli authority should they need any help, stressed Skrekas.
He also pointed out that several Greek companies are specializing in cleaning the sea, following the handling of an oil spill in Saronikos Gulf in 2017.
